A job is a lease on your skills.

Your employer rents your expertise, packages it and sells it to clients for far more than they pay you.

In exchange, they handle the selling, the risk and the slow months. You get a steady paycheck.

That can be a good deal. But read the terms.

They set the price. They keep the margin. And everything you create on their time, they own, including whatever it keeps earning after you leave.

A fair lease ends, and you get the property back. This one doesn't.

When one employer is the only buyer for your skills, they write all the terms.

Build Your Services Business helps you take the other side of the deal: package the service you want to sell, price it, find your first clients and deliver it, so your skills earn for you directly.

Self-employment isn't for everyone.

Many people assume freelancing, consulting or fractional work means doing the same job and getting paid for it directly.

It doesn't. Your employer has been carrying the sales, the risk, the overhead, the slow months, the tools, the brand and your guaranteed paycheck.

When you work for yourself, all of that becomes your job too. The work you were hired for is only part of it.

That's why we don't start with a logo or a website. We start with the parts most people skip. Each week, you take over one thing your employer used to handle for you:

If you discover you'd rather keep your job and add a small service on the side, that's a good outcome too because you've still taken a step in the right direction to reduce your dependence on one employer or main client and give yourself more ways to earn.

Is this for me?

You know the service you want to sell, like consulting, freelancing, fractional work or work made to order, and you need help getting your first clients. You may be employed, between roles or already self-employed in a different line of work.

This program could fit you if:

• You know which service you want to sell, and you have the skills and experience to deliver it.

• You haven't yet sold that work independently, or you've had one or two informal projects and want to do it properly.

• You want help pricing it, finding your first buyers and setting your terms before you hand in your notice or build a website.

• You're willing to contact people, have sales conversations and do the work between calls.

Make things to order, like catering, commissions or custom work? Those sell like services and fit here: you quote, agree the scope, take a deposit and deliver.

This program isn't for you if:

• You're still deciding what to sell. Start with Life, Work, and Income by Design.

• You want to do the work but never sell it.

• You've already sold and delivered your own work to multiple paying clients. Explore Build Your Intellectual Property or Market, Launch & Sell instead.

You can do this while keeping your job. You don't need previous independent clients, an audience, a company or a website.

What You'll Build in 4 Weeks

Shape the service you've chosen into an offer a first client can say yes to.

We'll pin down the exact problem your service solves and the person who would pay to solve it. That's often not the person who uses your work. The buyer is the one who signs and pays, and your offer needs to make sense to them.

Then we'll shape one focused starter offer: a defined first engagement, such as an audit, diagnostic, sprint or project, that a new client can easily say yes to. You'll decide what's included, what isn't and what changes for the client.

If your service covers too much, we'll narrow it down.

You'll build: your Service Offer Brief, a one-page description of your buyer, the problem, the outcome, the scope and what's not included.

Charge enough to cover what your employer used to absorb.

Your salary was never the full cost of your work. When you work for yourself, your price has to cover taxes, tools, insurance, time spent selling, unbilled admin and the months between clients.

We'll compare project fees, retainers, day rates and hourly pricing, and look at what you'd actually keep from each. Then we'll work out how many clients you need at that price to reach your income target, and how many you can realistically take on alongside your job, business or family.

We'll also set your basic terms: deposits, payment timing, what happens when the scope changes, and how to price your first clients without working for free.

You'll build: your Pricing + Capacity Sheet and a simple terms checklist.

Find the people who could hire you or refer you.

Your first clients usually come from people who already know your work: former colleagues and managers, vendors, partners, past clients of your employer and people in your professional network. We'll map those relationships and decide who to contact first.

You'll show your credibility without independent clients yet, using results from your career, work samples and a LinkedIn profile that makes clear what people can hire you for. Then you'll write outreach and referral messages and start sending them during this week, so you arrive at Week 4 with real conversations to work from.

You'll build: your Buyer + Referral List, outreach and referral messages, and a weekly outreach tracker.

Turn interest into a paying client, then deliver well.

We'll work through how to run a discovery conversation, present your offer and price, and respond to questions such as "Can you do it for less?" or "Let me think about it." You'll put together a simple proposal and the basic terms of your engagement.

Then we'll plan how you'll onboard and deliver your first clients, so each engagement can lead to a testimonial, a case study, a referral or repeat work. You'll also start recording what you learn from each client. Over time, those patterns become the foundation for your own intellectual property.

You'll build: a discovery call guide, a one-page proposal template, an onboarding checklist and your 90-day client plan.

What will you actually leave with?

  • One defined service with a clear buyer, problem, scope and outcome.
  • A price and structure that fit your income target and the time you have.
  • A list of potential buyers and referrers, with outreach already underway.
  • A discovery call guide, proposal template and onboarding checklist.
  • A 90-day plan for landing and delivering your first clients.

The sprint helps you build your offer and start selling it. Landing clients can take longer than four weeks, and no clients or income are guaranteed. No specific number of clients or income is guaranteed.

Business registration, contracts reviewed by a lawyer, and tax and accounting setup are outside the program's scope.

How the program works

This is a live 30-day sprint with set start and finish dates.

Each week, you'll receive the material and workbook in advance, so you can do the prework before the live call. In four live, 60-minute group sessions, we'll review your work, answer questions and pressure-test your decisions. Between sessions, you can ask questions and receive feedback in the private program chat.

You'll apply everything to your own service and start contacting potential buyers during the program. Attending the calls alone won't complete the work.

This is a group program. Private one-on-one sessions, copywriting done for you, website builds and outreach on your behalf are not included. If you need more in-depth support, we can discuss a separate paid engagement, subject to availability.

The four weeks end. Your community access doesn't.

After the sprint, you'll keep access to the private program chat to share progress, stay accountable and keep in touch with other participants. Continued community access does not include ongoing feedback from me or private advisory support.

Your enrollment includes:

• Four interactive, 60-minute live sessions on Zoom.

• Weekly workbooks and templates for your Service Offer Brief, Pricing + Capacity Sheet, Buyer + Referral List, outreach messages, discovery call guide, proposal and onboarding checklist.

• Questions and feedback in the private program chat during the four weeks.

• Lifetime access to session recordings and program materials.

• Lifetime access to the private program chat.

Every session is recorded. If you miss a live call, watch the replay and bring your questions to the chat.

About Krista

I’m Krista Mollion, founder of FU Money Plan, former 6x CMO.

I've sold services from both sides of the table.

I co-owned and helped grow an eight-figure agency, where selling services to clients was the business. I've been a CMO, buying services from agencies and consultants. And over nine years working for myself, I've sold consulting, fractional CMO work and advisory projects on my own, without a company name behind me.

I've also tested 12 income streams and made six pivots. Some services paid well. Others quietly became another job I didn't want, with a client as my new boss.

That's what we'll design around. We'll look at what you could charge, what you'd keep, how much of your week it would take and what happens if your biggest client leaves. The aim is more income and more options, not a new dependency.

What It’s Like to Work With Me

Here’s what people I’ve coached and advised have said about working with me.

Ready to get paid for your skills directly?

Bring the service you want to sell and the experience behind it. Over four weeks, we'll shape your offer, set your price, build your buyer list and prepare you for your first sales conversations.

You'll leave with a service you can sell, outreach already underway and a 90-day plan that fits your time and responsibilities.

Questions you may have

Do I need paying clients already?

No. This program is for people who haven't yet sold their own work independently. You do need a service you know you want to sell, and the skills to deliver it.

Can I do this while I'm employed?

Yes. Many people start a service on the side before deciding whether to grow it. Check your employment contract for any non-compete, conflict-of-interest or outside-work terms before you approach potential clients. I can't give legal advice on your contract.

What if I'm not sure what to sell yet?

This program is for people who already know the service they want to sell. If you're still deciding what to sell, or how you want to work and earn, start with Life, Work, and Income by Design. If you're torn between two versions of the same service, we'll narrow it down in Week 1.

Consulting, freelancing or fractional: how should I package my service?

They differ in how you're paid, how involved you are with the client and how much of your week each takes. We'll look at which model fits your service, your buyers and the time you have, then shape your offer around it.

Should I work for free to get my first clients?

Usually not. Free work is hard to value, for you and the client. In Week 2, we'll look at how to price your first engagements so they're easy to say yes to without giving your work away.

Do I need a website, a company or an audience?

No. Most first clients come from people who already know your work. You'll need a clear way to describe your service and a professional way for people to contact you. Setting up a website, company or accounts isn't included.

Will I land a client during the program?

You'll start outreach in Week 3 and prepare for sales conversations in Week 4. Some participants may sign a client during the sprint; for many, it takes longer. That depends on your skills, market, network and outreach. No clients or income are guaranteed.

Will you set my price for me?

You'll make the final decision. I'll give you a structured way to calculate it, compare pricing models and get feedback on your numbers within the group.

What comes after Build Your Services Business?

If you have one offer that sells and want more buyers, explore Market, Launch & Sell. Completing this program doesn't automatically establish readiness for either.

What's the difference between the FU Money Plan™ programs?
